No, cannot answer your query, but have you seen the old fashioned Thermette or Kelly Kettle? Much bulkier, but run on twigs and sticks.

Many retailers will give you a 10 to 15% discount for being a member of a walking/climbing club ie, YHA,BMC etc...
its not unknown to negotiate a discount of 20% for large purchases (cause ive done it many times)
anyway, if you place a telephone order from an e-tailer, and tell them you are a member of an organisation,im sure they will discount(this has also worked for me and they wont ask for a membership number.
