Can anyone suggest a book that helps with the things self employed people can claim tax relief on ?

    Yes, have a look at this link to the HMRC website

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/bimmanual/BIM42060.htm:

    In a nut shell this covers what you can, and cannot, claim.

    Remember this "wholly & exclusively incurred" and you can't go far wrong.

    Sue what type of business are you running? I may be able to give you some general guidance.

    Whatever you claim make sure you keep the receipt!!
