HELP! QUICK! Lamb slow cooker!

Hi! I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I have a half leg of lamb, boneless, defrosted - 750g which I am about to try and cook.
I was wondering - can I throw it in the slow cooker? We need to eat about 6.30pm - so thats four hours. Will it be done in time, or do I have to stay in and watch this stupid thing cook?! If I can slow cook it, what do I do with it?
I'm kind of hoping to go out in the next hour or so and coming back to a fully cooked leg of lamb would be lush! Please throw your suggestions at me!!
