Well I must say demand for SIPPs must be rocketing if the insurers have to go to all this trouble to provide a competitive product that is a) almost the same as one they've got already and b) lacks the features of the one they're trying to copy.:D
Must say I find that quite encouraging.
How many unit trust/OEIC ISAs are sold compared to Share ISAs? Personally I dont know but it would be fair to say that the unit trust/Oeics massively out sell shares.
So having a SIPP with lower charges investing in unit trust/oeics only is a common sense move and will be extremely marketable and good value.b) lacks the features of the one they're trying to copy.
Why pay for features that the majority are never going to use?Not for larger funds because normally they have flat rate, not percentage based charges, and often no annual charge at all, while fund charges will be rebated.
Still wont make them cheaper than stakeholders or personal pensions on comparable terms.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Not everyone is aware that sipps are not likely to be regulated until 2007. They could potentally be a minefield for the unaware and a good FSA would be worth his/her weight in gold. Don`t be too quick to jump out of personal pensions and stakeholders.0
