Discrepancy in loan settlement figure - Barclays

I'm looking for some advice and input from anyone who has had the same experience as me, namely:

I have an unsecured loan with Barclays, a few months ago I called to find out a final settlement figure if I was to pay the loan off at a given point. I was given the figure by the advisor at the end of the conversation.

I then decided to get a secured loan to pay off the Barclayloan (and obviously reduce my monthly outgoings), before sorting out final arrangements I call Barclays again to confirm kfor my own peace of mind and was told the same figure as the first conversation.

Following this I proceeded with the secured loan for the amount needed, you can guess the rest. Once funds were through I called Barclays to pay off the loan and was given a settlement figure that was over £1000 more!

I gave the figure that I was previously quoted on more than one occasion and was told that this was incorrect.

I tried taking this matter up through Barclays complaints process but got absolutely nowhere.

Any advice on what to do/steps I can take please - I am in a complete mess now as have been making both loan payments whilst getting nowhere with my complaint through Barclays and the money has rapidly vanished.

I would send it in to the FOS to check or Office of fair trading perhaps. You could actually write a letter to Barclays and tell them you are complaining to the FOS or OFT as a courtesy and see what they say.
