Fabric Conditioner

I rarely use this these days, as the dispenser drawer on my machine seems blocked and I can't clear it. (The powder section is fine, but the conditioner just sits there).
Having invested in a couple of "bobbly balls" (pardon my French!) that I put in the dryer, I haven't really missed it.
However, now the kids are back at school, their shirts are getting a bit whiffy at times, and smell a bit even after washing, so I thought I'd try using a conditioner on them.
Will I have to hand wash, or even rinse in conditioner after the machine?
Any hints welcome.

Hi, can you remove the drawer? If so, get it out and give it a soak.
If not, then try pouring hot water into the conditioner bit or having a poke around with your hand.....it's probably a build up of conditioner and old soap powder that's done it.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Take the drawer out, wash with a small scoop of soap powder and a decent splash of bleach. While letting the drawer soak in the soloution, wash out the drawer section of the washer - you might need to use a nail brush or toothbrush. Rinse both thoroughly with hot water.
Now put the drawer back into the washer, and put some detergent, a squirt of bleach and a cup (400ml) of white vineger in - don't use malt vinegar, because this will discolour the rubber seal.
Set the machine away on a 90/95c wash, with the extra rinse/aqua plus option enabled if you have such a thing.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -

Thanks all. The drawer and surrounding are clean as a whistle, but I will try soaking the tray in hot water & vinegar, and try putting a hot cycle through later with detergent, bleach & vinegar.
(LOL at your comment about malt vinegar, basmic, sent DH out for some white vinegar for cleaning once & guess what he came back with?....sigh!)
I don't want to have to get it repaired as it seems such a small thing & I can do without it really.0
