NHS superannuation pension? safe?

Hi...can someone confirm that my NHS pension is "Protected" from the current world financial problems?

PS...I am expecting lump sum / annual pension next year.

As far as past service goes ,Yes. Benifits for future service are, IMO, likely to be progressively salami sliced away as as already happened for new entrants & existing members in some schemes, although since you are retiring next year not a great issue.

HMG could renage on the agreement but the consequences are such that it won't happen unless the country goes bankrupt in which cae we're all in a world of hurt anyway.
