My other half & I have decided to start looking at buying a bike each & we would like a decent, value for money digital camera which would be ideal to carry around whilst riding our bikes.
I'm not clued up on megapixels ect, some good advice/ideas would be appreciated.

I got myself a lovely Fuji Finepix Z5 about 6 months ago. It's a lovely raspberry colour & is really simple to use. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fuji-Finepix-Digital-Camera-6-3MPix/dp/B0013DIFPK/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1222338355&sr=1-13 this is the same one in Amazon, ignore the price though as I managed to get it from Sainsburys for £50
I'm looking for a newer version of the same camera for my daughter now, I think it's a Z10 but I'm waiting for the price to fall as I don't want to pay more than I did for my own one lol am I tight or what!! 0 -
Ignore pixel count, as long as it's above 5/6 you will get a decent enough picture quality unless you want A4/A3 pictures. The lens is the more important part, as that is what makes the picture quality good or bad. Im sorry, but I dont have any suggestions as I have a DSLR so dont knwo much about handheld cameras, but do some research on photo websites and you should get an idea for who makes good lenses etc.

hmm from google searches, this camera looks a tad expensive for what I'm after.0 -
How about the fuji F40fd either from Fuji refurbs.
Or the F45FD from clearencebargins (argos?) on ebay.
8 Mega pixels , 3x zooms, compact, reasonably cheap. Reasonable quality.

This one could be an option too. Chris seems to have done his homework and it has a fair spec. Only £40 too

The Fuji Finepix cameras are hard to beat. Compared to other small digital cameras they have larger sensors which produces sharper pics.
Here's a great article to read before buying a camera, don't get fooled into buying megapixels
