Gold Blend Alternative please?

Hello I wonder if anyone can help. The Gold Blend is getting too expensive now so I'll have to stop buying it.
I don't mind using a supermarket brand but don't know which one I can slip into the jar without hubby tasting the difference? He loves Gold Blend and turns his nose up at others, so it has to be a granuley coffee.

I switched to Sainsbury's Gold Roast a few years ago and nobody noticed the difference! About £2.60 for 200g jar.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
  • Hi,

I too like Gold Blend, but it might be worth checking out the coffee from Aldi as I like that too. They do do granulated ones, and the Colombian blend is a similar colour to Gold Blend, I think.

    Hope that helps,

    Regards,

    White.

  • Hi,

Tesco's Gold Choice coffee (£1.30 for 100g) is identical to Nescafe Gold Blend but much, much cheaper.

I'm on the Aldi stuff - doesn't taste quite the same as GB but tastes as good.
  • My advice - don't switch from Gold Blend - I am a Gold Blend addict, and actually if you get the offers ie 2 big jars for £7 then its a snip. Don't compromise on your favourites if that's what they are!
  • i like the tescos one-

if husband does notice the difference though try mixing gold blend with a little of the tesco one and keep doing it bit by bit that way it will not be such a big change in taste.

    hope this helps!!

Another big aldi coffee fan its even better than gold blend and half the price. Why not have a gold blend jar for the weekend and have aldi in the week not such a big changeover for hubby and you then.
