I have a friend coming here from out of town on 3rd December and we're going to the opera. I'm getting the tickets for nothing (press) so would prefer not to ruin the saving by spending a fortune on dinner!
Looking for current good deals on a meal for 2, around £20 (max) per head including wine, and must be valid at 5:30 ish on a Saturday evening in the Trafalgar Square, Charing Cross or Covent Garden area.
Any bright ideas?
(Edit: P.S. we are quite sick of Wetherspoons, wonderful though they are!)

Well, you're right on the edge of Chinatown but if you fancy a real bargain and a hidden gem in the middle of Soho try Jimmy the Greek's in Frith Street.

Food for Thought, Neal Street Covent Garden? Vegatarian but endlessly inventive and WONDERFUL desserts.
Or the India Club, on the Strand. This is a very shabby but very wonderful and affordable Indian, called the India Club because it used to be used by all the staff in the Indian Embassy. I *think* they're open all afternoon, but you will need to check. http://www.london-eating.co.uk/3002.htm has reviews
Or there's a Pizza Express a few doors down.......Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Hi
If you are looking for something 'posh' at a good price, then try https://www.toptable.co.uk and go to 'special offers.' There are 2 good restaurants for next week, one is Quaglino's, a Conran restaurant, offering a 2 course meal and a glass of wine for 19pp. Or Incognico (French) has a 3 course meal and glass of wine for 21pp.
Quaglino's usually works out to 35pp without the special offer.
Hope this helps!0
