Trade Appliances/Appliancesdirect.co.uk

Hello

Firstly, I hope I've put this on the right discussion board!

I've read on another forum that Trade Appliances are in administration and generally lots of negative feedback. However, has anybody used Appliancesdirect.co.uk (as this was what came up when I put Trade Appliances into Google). Are Appliancesdirect the same company as Trade Appliances?

Can anybody recommend where I can buy hob/cooker at discount price (perhaps on the internet) but also a reputable company?

Many thanks

    Spam promotion of applicances direct.

Search the forums for more info, but directtvs, laptopsdirect etc. are one to be avoided like tha plague.

Also just seen the direct tvs advert,, all there special offers are cheaper in just about every shop in the country.

Shop around, or just go to to tescos or sainsburies for better deals (yes there offers are that bad and that easy to beat lol)

Just to prove my point, argos

42" acoustic solutions 536/6794 411.04, cashback through the normal cashback sites, free delivery, better guarantee and customer services

42" hitachi529/4244 485.08, cashback, free delivery, better guarantee and customer services.

Shop around better deals than ive mentioned, but mentioning them just to warn you to avoid any of the direct brands websites.

I recently bought a Siemens oven (Which Best Buy), and there was very little difference in prices across the reputable shops. In the end I bought via Boots, as I got quidco, and boots points. This made it about £40 cheaper after benefits than anywhere else. Obviously for other brands, there may be a greater differential, but I did the same thing for my parents (Neff this time) and again Boots was pretty much the most competitive after benefits. Hope this helps.
  • I have now purchased quite a few products from Appliances Direct and there other associated companies and never had any particular problems at all.

Just before Xmas I purchased a some gifts from DirectTVs and there has been absolutely no problem whatsoever. As far as I knew, they have some quite low prices on TVs and appliances as I have compared a few items.

I have ordered over the internet and been in to there store to buy the items, on all occasions, the service seems reasonable. Certainly think that people should consider the fact that they do have a huge warehouse and they do allow collection unlike a lot of other internet only sellers.

sometimes, i find that people who know what they want, why, what for, they know how to look after their newly product, people who understand the different levels of communication within the company's call centre or know how to talk and what department they need to be talking with, have a better time with companies like laptopsdirect appliancesdirect etc.

however, a simple search engine search will yield many results about a company and its reputation on its dealings with customers.

type it in a search engine and read all the user reviews. i have. does not seem to be a very pleasant company. its a decision on whether you want to chance it or not.

As a note with respect to laptopdirects, appliancesdirect, crapdirect etc.

All the positive comments on this company are from forum members with one post maybe two. No members with a lot of comments or thanks.

If it isnt blindingly obvious, the positive comments are by crapdirects own staff.

All i recommend is like wapow says, check the forums and the internet see what people have to say about the company, you will find many many different people not recommending this company for reasons and experiences they explain (mines in another strand somewhere). Just read and judge for yourself or ask west yorkshire trading standards.

Also there ridiculously expensive now in comparison to everywhere else, so ive a feeling there stuck with a load of over priced stock they now cant move due to the crunch.

As a note if you collect the item from any mail order company your not covered by the distance selling regulations as its then in person, so no 30 day cooling off period where you can send it back as you 'dont want it.'
