Will my mortgage company perform a credit search?

Hi there, I am new to this forum so hi to everyone! I wanted to aske a question about my mortgage, we have a huge mortgage (and a few other debts besides), we have recently tried to re-mortgage but have been turned down as there is only about 10% equity in our house. Our current mortgage deal with Halifax comes to an end in January and we need to get another deal with them. Obviously our credit score has been bashed a bit from the search from our previous mortgage application, so I wanted to know if we go for another deal with Halifax, will they perform a credit search?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
