What is this?

I have a hard white spot, I have had it for nearly 3 years!! It has not got a head and I dont know how to get rid of it. After a bit of looking roung on the net I think it might be a pauple? But there is no advise on how to get rid of it. It is on my cheek and it hurts sometimes. Is there anything I can do about it? It has affected my confidence greatly as I always assume people are talking to my spot not me.

Has anyone got rid of one before?

WRONGLY i dug one out with a pin many years ago. Then i had a red lump for about a month.......nothing since then. LOL. There must be a better way but this way did work.

Could be a Milia. Like a blackhead but the skin hasn't got an opening so the pore fills up with sebum and cannot be squeezed out without breaking the skin.

As the other poster has said, if it's not you could damage the skin. Go and see a beauty therapist within a salon that treats thread veins and skin tags as they will probably be able to identify/remove it for you.

Im afraid I did the same as annie_d - so so sore at the time, and left me with a red mark/scab thing.

But a week later its all gone - just a little mark which is fading!

Again im sure easier way....but I was sick of the sight of it!!

Thanks for all advise, I had to take DS to the nurse today so thought I would ask her advise. She booked me straight in with the Dr who has referred me to a specialist to have it properly removed so it wont scar. Don't know how long it will take but hopefully it will be removed soon:j
