anywhere going to be selling these on the day of release that hasnt already sold out through pre-orders?

well iv not found anywhere yet.and believe me iv hunted high and low for one,online and in the shops and all the pre-orders are gone.
Although when i was looking (around a week ago) argos and currys still had the core packages left but their the rubbish ones so i didnt bother
iv decided to wait until after xmas.

Heard that Woolworths and Comet maybe selling them on day of release but if this is true you will have to get their early to try and get one. I will probably wait until the new year once all the hype has settled down. Hopefully Microsoft will release larger quantities than they are doing at the moment but this keeps people taking about the machine and creates bigger sales if they release small quantities

I've been looking everywhere too - I pre-ordered from Asda at the beginning of October but have now been told that Microsoft have reduced their initial allocation so we won't be getting one before xmas.

I also found the core system bundle on Argos last Friday - went to order it at the beginning of the week and it's no longer on their site (cat no. 568/0023) - and I can't find it on the curry's site - do you have a link where it shows it is available? - I know Amazon have the hard drive for sale on it's own although it doesn't say it will guarantee delivery it just says it's due out on the 2nd - but I thought it may be worth a try.

Asked in Woolworths today and they told me all their stock is already allocated to pre-orders, Comet have also taken pre-orders so I doubt there'll be any on the day of release.

Comet is definite no-no from what i've been reading on other boards they may struggle to even get any consoles out to pre-order customers on launch day due to courier problems. Certainly won't be any to buy in stores anywhere according to an albeit quite rude and abrupt salesman in the Southampton retail park superstore!

Woolworths and HMV also said they cant even fulfill all their pre-orders before christmas.

Some of the larger asda stores might have some I have heard from a reliable source,I asked at my local one and was told "maybe".I'll be down at my local for opening time to check,got friday off to go and hunt for one of these

Please let me know if you manage to get one from Asda - I'd pre-ordered mine online with Asda on the 7th October - and they've now said they can't fulfil their pre-orders in time for xmas because Microsoft have let them down - so I'd be interested to see if they manage to get some for their stores.

I'm going to wait until the hype has died down and the power supply problems etc have gone away with version 1.01 (or whatever they call it).

Then I'm going to read the reviews versus the PS3 and decide if my PS2 / PC games are really that bad in comparison.

If i get one from anywhere i will update this thread for you guys,I'm gonna try 24 hour stores around midnight then get down to asda for opening at 6 and then try the other stores at 9 oclock(I'm sad i know)

so what is best then ps3 or xbox360

Xbox with bugs / premium prices now or PS3 later (maybe with bugs) or Xbox later (bugs fixed / lower prices as rush subsides and PS3 appears on scene)

Just read the reviews, play it and decide if its worth it - I didn't regret getting the PS2 when it came out but I spent a lot of money at the time. This time I have a baby on the way so my priorities are skewed ! Next year for me !
