go to  Edit Profile in your profile, then to Notification Preferences in your profile, make sure you haven't 'bookmarked' the thread & then you can choose to tick/untick your preferences, HTH.

Ah thank you so much.  I knew it would be hiding somewhere, I have un ticked the alert email box on that thread.
