Leaving job - stakeholder pension options

Options
Hi,

I'm leaving a job where both myself and my employer have been contributing to a Standard Life stakeholder pension for about 3 years. I won't be continuing to contribute as my new job has a defined benefit scheme:j . Standard life will charge me 1% p.a. to manage the stakeholder pension. I was wondering what the options are for me to do with this investment - keep it as it is, transfer it - or something entirely different????

Thank you

keep or transfer are your options. Which is best will depend on what alternatives you are looking at. I'm not a fan of the SL stakeholder as it offers nothing which cannot be bettered elsewhere. Its not a bad one by any means but its not the best. So, leaving it where it is wouldnt be an issue. You will need to enquire from the new pension administrators about how much pension the SL value would buy you and then compare the two.

  • I was in the same position with SL, however, my new company does not accept transfers in, so I left my SL where it was.....
