Fluffy Cushion Problem!

Hi guys
I bought some beautiful cushions 3 weeks ago that DH said reminds him of a bathroom mat  in a kind of chenille type material. Problem is the fluff they shed is a chuffing nightmare  It gets all over your clothes, the floors and surfaces are covered in fluff - even the bathroom upstairs gets it
They cost £45  so I'm loathe to bin them, but the amount of extra cleaning is a nightmare - and yes you've guessed it ... they are dry clean only
Any suggestions on what to do about the problem would be warmly received

Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

I'd be tempted to give them a very quick blast through the tumble drier on a very low heat setting just to suck away some of the fluff.
I haven't tried this though and it may ruin the covers so please don't sue me if this happens!0 -
hang them on the line on a windy day

hoover them with the hose part

The material on the removable covers are viscose and polyester - so it might work :think:Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

As you're so sick of them that you have even considered binning them:eek:, would you not maybe be able to return them for a refund

I wouldn't of thought that they'd take them back after they've been used for 3 weeks
Hmm - wonder where I put that receipt  Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
A scarf I knotted with chenille type wool is exactly the same - its a beautiful shade of red wine but sheds all over my black winter coat  I did wonder if a light spray of hairspray might work but I've not tried it yet. Shame - I love the colour!0

It depends where you bought them from, some places are better than others, but if they're not fit for the purpose then you have a right to a full refund.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -

Just remember that even a light spray of hairspray would make the scarf highly flammable.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -
true but I don't smoke and have no heaters except radiators. But then I suppose someone else smoking might be bad for my health if they get near my scarf!
