I just checked the website but it don't mention refund for purchased items. Can someone please advise before I sign up. Thanks in advance.

You are allowed to take back any item to the store for a refund.

Sorry, I meant to ask would Selfridges pay for the items purchased without returning them? I know they pay 10 GBP for doing the assignment.
  • No, you only get paid £10 in total. So if you're lucky enough to do a mystery shop in Wines or Groceries you basically get a free item!

Register to become a mystery shopper at Selfridges - you are expected to make a purchase when in the store (but you can get a refund), fill out a questionnaire and you get £10 back for it all! Great if you already shop there and not too bad if you want to try it out!

    Good luck!

You don't get refunded... You need the receipt to prove you made the visit, and to provide evidence of who served you etc...

  • I don't find this is worth the effort. The questionnaire takes a while to complete and comments of min 250 characters are required per section.
  • I am part of this. Yes, you do get refunded. You have to take the goods back with the receipt. To be honest, I am part of three very good mystery shopping companies. I don't consider this to be one of them.

The assignments go within 5mins and you are left with Gaultier or Westwood-like shopping assignments. Imagine needing to go and buy something "cheap" in those stores. Hmmm.

There are some great M.Shopping companies that do Eliz Arden spas (had some great treatments) and ones that do very high end hotels in central london (amazing boutique hotels that most of us couldn't or wouldn't fork out for).

Still, each to their own :)
