Hi
I have just started out selling Usborne books. Is there anyone else out there that does it?
Do you have any hints and tips to help me make as much as I can?

Welcome to Usborne.
I have been doing Usborne for 2 years now and love it.
Your recruiter should be able to give you lots of advice about starting out and places you can approach.
Good luck0 -
Is that where they drop some books at a company reception and pick them up with orders in a week?0

You can do that but I prefer to stay with the books and sell them face to face as this is alot easier. There are many places you can sell Usborne too such as schools - nurseries - preschools - at craft and christmas fairs - home parties - macmillan coffee mornings etc etc.
Plenty of opportunity to sell to different places
hope that helps0 -
I would be very interested in signing up with Usborne but I am a OU student study at home and work online don't have any kids myself so no potential customers that I can immediately think of. Anyone got any ideas where I could possibly distribute the books and get some orders.
Also is their a start up fee with Usborne as I am on a really tight budget at the moment."Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions.
Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too,
can become great."

Don't forget that you have to place a minimum value order once you have signed up though - otherwise you are liable to pay for the 'free' starter pack. Is fine if you have sold books or need them yourself but not if you are unsure and don't have kids of your own to buy for!
Lots of places are good for selling usborne (or any books!) but research first - some areas people are serious bargain hunters (mse'rs?) and won't buy without some drastic discounting! :rotfl:
I used to sell usborne and found that sold more the more stock I had - people like to touch/look at the books and take them away rather than order!
Also have serious competition with the book people/schoollink/redhouse etc selling discounted current titles! Sometimes we had to buy from them to sell ourselves to make better margin than from usborne!
Are fab books though and very easy to go mad on stock - I often ordered books I liked the look of, thinking would give to my children/nieces/nephews if didn't sell! :rotfl:
Run up to Xmas is best time to start - most profitable as loads of school/church xmas fairs, shopping evenings coming up!
