I agree people need to be made aware of what is happening, so they can make their own decisions. My gripe is the sensationalism that a large art of the media seem to be keen on using.
It isn't sensationalism.
You need to learn and accept that a real negative mixture of variables and stresses are feeding back from the financial system - not just over the past 11 years, but over the last 60 years - with megapolitical shifts involved too.
Your 3 bed semi in a nice rural location might be proven to be hugely over-valued after everything has played out.0 -

And I think that a large portion of the population are as yet unaffected.
This and Dave's post made me wonder if the effects are not like STDs ....in very general terms people don't think they have them, so don't get tested...those who DO get regularly tested are the ones who don't get stds as often...yet statistics show STDs are rising.0 -

Yes it is sensationalism, headlines sell papers/get viewers.. as far as the media is concerned the more 'grabbing' a headline is the better.. the content is often molded to fit the headline/theme...that not to say it isnt happening just the way its be reported.0

At the beginning of the year the media were saying it was all going to be ok, just a little blip nothing to see here.
They have slowly been building it up to reality. Most people probably haven't noticed much change to there lives unless they have a mortgage or work in a sector that has been affected. But I have a feeling we will all start noticing things next year.
my feeling about the media in all this, particularly over the last 2 weeks, is that so many journalists simply dont understand, or have the words for whats happening. Plus they need to do some level of research to put out programming like we saw last night.
Im actually surprised how little there is of it on Radio 4, how much of it on Vine and it being everywhere on talk radio ( eg lbc) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
