Hi,
My mum has been getting tax relief at 20% in her pension, however she hasnt been claiming the additional 20% for a higher rate tax payer. Any ideas if this can be back dated?

I believe it can go back 6 years.
Is it a personal pension or a company pension she pays into?0 -

Are you sure she doesn't already have full tax relief at source?
The majority of company pension contributions are paid from gross wages before tax is taken. If this is the case with your mum she is not due any more tax relief.0 -
I havent looked at the paperwork, just from what I have been told. I will look into everything tomorrow - just wanted to know where she stands if the full tax relief wasnt claimed at source.

Just a minor point, but any backdating will only return 18%, not 20%.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0
