Hi All
Just wondered if anyone had any great tips on a economic Tandem pushchair buggy.

for a toddle and baby.
for general usage short walks, not off road.

It would help if you gave a few more detail?
What ages are your children?
Where will you store it? How much space do you have?
Where do you plan to use it most i.e. shopping, off road?
What sort of money are you hoping to spend?
Do you need lots of accessories i.e. cosytoes, raincover etc.
I managed to get a Graco Duosport for £15.00 from Ebay (had to collect it though). It is fine for my 3 year and 1 year old.0 -

I had a graco tandem & it was fantastic. If you are near Peterborough you can get them instore usually for a bit cheaper but if not then the website do free delivery.
The marco sky one i considered but the poor child at the back doesnt get to see much which if you have a bigish(2+years) gap wont matter so much because the younger 1 can sit in the front while the older one walks. If they are similar ages the 1 behind struggles to see which can be a bit upsetting for them at times.

i had a tandem buggy when my daughter was born, my son was 22 months, as soon as she was able to sit up, she used to pull his hair, he then refused to sit in front of her, so I sold it when she was about 6/7 months, then bought a buggy & buggy board.0

I started off with a one behind the other pushchair and when the youngest got older went over to a side by side. The tandem one was a bit like pushing a coach along and really heavy on the shoulders. Wheras there were lots of squabbles to break up in a side by side one. Both of them had their pros and cons. When your oldest child reaches the right age it might be better to switch to a normal buggy with a wheeled platform for the older child to stand on.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Hiya,
I bought this one and its great.

I use it for DS (2) and DD2 (1). Its a side by side one which I think will last longer as when the kids grow they do tend to get squashed in the back of the tandems.
It comes with 2 footmuffs and a raincover (great for winter) which would cost in the region of £60 if bought seperately.
Suitable from birth. I use mine for general walking about and shopping trips.
HTH,
Al.
PS - I have used mine since DD2 was a newborn, its the only buggy shes had and it was fine when she was tiny.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -

side by side has its down fall if you live in a little town that has tiny doorways !! thats why i went with the tandem as we lived in a village ? i would never have got the side by side into the village shop, newsagents or up the ramp into mother and toddler in the village hall !0

I too had similar problems (and friends). Far to heavy to lift up kurbs etc.
Also, the two little ones can't interact with each other in Tandem.
However, the side by side meant that the elder turned into a nifty shoplifter cos she was too close to the shelves.................. :rotfl:0 -
I brought a mamas and papas twin aria off ebay ..paid about 110 inc delivery and got an almost immaculate 1 including footmuffs raincover and matching changing bag!
I really did shop around and found this was best for me as it fits into most small cars andwas the lightest one on the market, also suitable for babies from birth.. my kids were neborn and 18 months when i brought it
