how long for descion

hi i posted here the other week as we wanted to remorgage our house to do some home improvements for another £15k we only owe 13k at present and our house is valued at about 110k the problem is my husband is retired and my income is 15k per year. i was worried because i applied for a credit card with my bank who morgage is with ,a couple of months ago but was declined as they said i do not meet their criteria, although they do not tell you what their critera is. we have spoken to my bnk and she advised we change from a flexible morgage to an offset. (i did this over the phone} she sent me all the forms to sighn and to send 200 cheque for valuation was told when forms recieved it would be credit checked and then valuation done. i sent everything back registerd post last monday but still not heard anything. can anyone tell me how long it normally takes for a descion to come through as
i am now starting to worry but frightened to ring in case they give me bad news thanks again
