Well ebay were all too quick to lock my account after I hadn't used it, so perhaps they should have the common sense to also notice that you hadn't logged into your account, and thus, now you are aware of the issue, should be given some time to investigate.
The first port of call would be the concert. They scan tickets on the way in, so contact them, and find out if the tickets were used. If they were, then contact the person you sold to, and ask them to return the £60, otherwise threaten them with court action. If they weren't used, then you'll have to pay the £60, but they at least owe you an explanation on why the chargeback was done.
By not paying this £60, you risk damaging your credit rating if it esculates.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

The OP hasn't said if the recorded item showed as being delivered.
Personally I think only option the OP has is to pay up. They weren't a very good seller, otherwise they would have checked that the tickets had arrived and the buyer was happy. As it is, it just looks like the OP took the money 'and ran'.
It's a hard lesson, but one that hopefully the OP has learnt.0 -
I suppose in a way you can say I took the money and ran, but when I buy something I take the goods and "run" too. Don't care if they like to money or not, you get what your given, £20 is £20, tickets are tickets etc.
I descripted the item clearly
The tickets were genuine
I sent it recorded delivery
I don't care though tbh, too many people out there trying to get something for nothing these days. Something that (if they have stolen) they will have to know that they stooped to that level and took money from a family for no reason just to "treat" themselves.
Sorry, but I thought ebay was a friendly place to trade, you buy/sell. didn't realise that there was a "steal" in there somewhere too.
Like I said above, I did everything correctly apart from checking my emails.

I am still not sure you understand the main drift of this thead. You appear to say that you have no idea why the money went back to the buyer, and assumptions (which of course may be wrong) have been made this was a chargeback for item not receievd. I'm not sure how sending recorded equals knowing goods were delivered?
If at the time of the chargeback you had entered the tracking number into the dispute console and it showed item was delivered then you would have won the chargeback. However you did not do that and by default the paypal claim was found against you which is right and proper.
You say that you thought ebay was a good place to trade..yes it is and that is because a buyer knows if an item fails to arrive then he gets his money back..exactly as he would from any other online venue. As a seller you have the means to protect yourself, you sent the item recorded (which actually would not have covered you for loss as tickets aren't covered in recorded delivery by the Royal Mail) .
There are a number of errors here, posisbly any one of them in isolation would have not been a major problem but taken as a whole you have lost out. Oh and one other thing, even if you di dnot realise that tickets were not covered recorded delivery you must have realised that the compensation was not enough for loss? Yes, most debt collectors wouldn't go looking for £60 anyway, their 'profit' is after court when they can legally charge 'extras'. This wouldn't get to court though..0
