Hi,
I am in the process of setting up a dmp with cccs.
Can any one tell me if I can put a note in with the photo copied letters and token payments to creditors asking for them to contact me by letter only? I have had a few phone calls at work which is not only embarassing but Im not suposed to have personal phone calls at work and can get in to trouble about it. I did ask them not to do this and they said they would remove my work phone no from their records but they still rang me at work again.
Also have been suffering from stress and depression for which have been on medication and dont feel up to all the phone calls and would like to have every thing in writing anyway.
can anyone tell me if its ok to do this and will creditors take notice of it.
thanks

I would definitely say write a few lines on the bottom of the letter.
If they continue with the calls keep a log of dates, time, names etc You could also point out that if they were to continue with the calls they would be in breach of the Office of Fair Trading debt collection guidelines.I am a Debt Counsellor that works for the CCCS and have specific permission from Martin, to post on these boards to try and help those in debt. Read more information on the CCCS and what it does in the Debt Problems: What to do and where to get help article.
CCCS is a registered charity, and there is no charge whatsoever for any of the services we provide to our clients.
