Hi guys
Right ive made up my mind, I want a Kenwood Chef KM001 for Christmas!
I've been looking around for the best deal and it seems Amazon is the cheapest at £229.
I was hoping to get a good deal in House of Fraser, on the sale day next Thursday but on checking it out, it seems the mixer is £299 there and theres to be only 10% off. I asked them to price match but they said no :-(
Anyhooo, I wondered if anyone had seen it cheaper elsewhere, or maybe somewhere else they perhaps do a deal with something thrown in? You never know....
Many thanks everyone

Gosh I nearly fainted with excitement then, but its a starting price, not a buy it now. Oh well, still a great find, I shall bid and hope no one else wants to pay more, fingers crossed for me!!
Thank you :-)0 -
Hiya!
Best deals I have found so far are:
1) If you live near enough to Kenwood in Havant, try their factory shop - I think their price is just under £200, but worth ringing them to double check! And they will come with full warranty!
2) can buy it now from ebay (if you do search on completed listings will come up) sells at £175 + pp (around £15 I think)
The reason I haven't bought one so far is that I haven't got that much dosh!
Would buy as used one but even they are in demand and I don't want to get into a bidding war! Anyway I have decided to wait until after xmas when everyone will be unloading their 'unwanted gifts' and superseded models and maybe grab a bargain then!
Happy bargain hunting!0 -
Good morning :-)
Didnt know about the factory shop, will give them a call, as even though I dont live nearby, they may post out.
I've done a search for completed items and the £175 are all from the same guy, so i've mailed him to ask if he has any more coming in. Hopefully i could be onto a winner there!
I know what you mean about the price of second hand ones, its getting ridiculous! I read about a woman over on rivercottageforums who paid out approx £50 for a thirty year old model that went bang within five mins! She ended up going out to buy a new one! I would buy a very old one for maybe £10 but otherwise i'd rather spend my money on a new one. I think £50 is overpriced when you take a gamble like that.0 -
Hopefully you will post back to let us know how you get on with the Factory Shop and your other investigations. Our current Kenwood is on it's last legs having danced off the worktop too many times. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Right then, I rang the factory shop but they wont deliver, its pick up only and im too far away for that, oh well never mind. Sorry forgot to ask the price as we got talking about the k beater and mash!
The ebay man. On further investigations, it seems that the mixers arent new as he is stating, but are graded. I believe this means that they may have been returns that have been faulty but have been overhauled and had faulty parts replaced. One buyer did say that his bowl was very badly dented (he was offered a replacement) :-( Now as its for a pressie, i'm not going to risk that so I think I will go with the kenwoodmajor.com site as I want to purchase accessories such as the food processor and maybe the sausage maker as well.0
