House/Pet Sitting

  • Hi Merrywidow!

The Spanish house will be available for rent, but it won't matter if no-one rents it, it has very few overheads and can just be locked up and left. A friend of mine here in the village will keep an eye on it for us.

It will also be on a Home Exchange holidays site (it is listed already) - no payment but holiday in someone else's house while they come to ours.

We don't know what seasons we will do yet. Spring and Autumn are nice here - Summer is too hot and Winter is too cold - BUT the winter is sunny so I expect we'll spend a month or two Spring, Autumn, Winter.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
  • Hi SDW....I googled House Exchange and House sitting and it threw up stacks of leads. Need to dig deeper for payment etc. Might have to wait till I return from my ska-ting trip to O Grove. I do hope the weather there is sunny - I suffer from SAD and its beginning to feel like I never lost last year's dose.

  • Hi Seven day weekend

Finally got around to reading the Lady mag, but the only thing was www.homesitters.co.uk - but it tells you most of what you need to know.
