What's even better is that in Bletchley, they offered me the more expensive goodmans model as they didn't stock this one!

I bought a CyberHome model in Asda in Bletchley today for £68.94. Looked pretty rubbish until I realised it was my old Scart lead that was duff. Put a new one in and this looks fantastic - tried recording from TVm, from Sky+ and from my video camera and it's superb. Worth the money just so I can convert my old video camera tapes to VD with minimal effort.
Chuffed to bits - and Asda had palette loads of them!

I got mine from Sainsburys - marked as Special Purchase - was £69.99.

Asked nice chap behind electric counter if it was multiregional and he said no but you could look up how to convert it on the internet.

Found Alba website but no joy so rang them. I was told it was illegal to sell multiregional equipment and that there is a way of converting them but I would have to get a private engineer to do it.

Have trawled the net but cannot find anything giving instructions on how to covert it.

Also, I have never had a DVD recorder before so do not know difference between DVD+ and DVD-. Apparently this only records DVD+. Could someone please explain.

A message appears on the screen saying Region Free.

If you can make the trip to York Monks Cross pdoff, there's one on reservation for you, I'm confident that these are coming in on next week's deliveries to Leeds.

I think the price has changed on this though.

Sainsbury's are still doing the alba one at 69.99 down from 89.99, next best Morrisons are doing a crown one (sorry dont know the model) at 79.99, the one at Asda seems to be out of stock they have trouble with their supplier (its offered online but at 84.99)
