Buying a pension with another provider

Hi,
I am recently widowed and have a pension left from my late husband.
They are offering me monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly instalments but not a lump sum.
Is there any way i can buy into another pension scheme and get a lump sum to help me keep the wolves from my door?
Thankyou

Potentially depending on the type of pension and amounts involved. Also, the pension provider will only offer the options that plan has available. Not all the options that are available within the rules.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
