Eat British Food that is - not people.
British Food Fortnight started yesterday, thought this was a useful list of 12 tips (although most OS'ers will know them already)

Thanks for letting us know but I don't notice seasonal foods are all that cheap any more. Where are the cheap aubergines? Still about 97p in Asda. I suppose it's the fuel costs responsible but rip-off & bandwagon come to mind too.0

I never knew what british foods were seasonal but this is a useful website.

The supermarkets are (in my experience) usually more expensive for 'luxury' veg like aubergines, sweet potatoes, that kind of thing - and they also seem to be the same price year round. If you pop to lidl or a market they're much cheaper.0 -
Read that article - someone was being "optimistic" werent they....re the plenty of places to forage...even in cities....not in this one there isnt! There arent many places at all to forage....and other people have usually "got there first" in what places DO exist.
Wouldnt mind so much....but I have a distinct suspicion that they arent following "Ye First Law of Foraging" - which is to "pay" for what you take by only taking a reasonable amount and making sure that you "pay back" by doing a bit of "housekeeping" on the countryside (or - in the case of an urbanite - what teensy bits of green there are in between all the buildings:cool: ). Oh ...whoops....any second now some developer will be thinking "bit of green...what bit of green? I can put another building there and make myself some more profit....":mad:0
