Any excuse for a party/drink kinda thing... but on Monday I'm commiserating. It's 5 yrs since the accident that left me disabled. So, in typical style of me, I'm going to do summit, - but I dunno what. A meal and drinks is a bit boring...well the drinks bit isn't but meh - so does anyone have any suggestions? It's not all doom n gloom though... just an excuse to have a little fun...
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

Hi foxxymynx - In your shoes I think I would want to celebrate what I could still do rather than focus on what I can't? If you like a group then go for that otherwise find one or two good friends and have fun!
As an official MSE craftaholic - if you can still do crafts - you could have a craft get together. Look at the craft for Christmas thread for ideas.
Or you could have a fun make up and pamper time
Could you go to a spa with a friend and have a massage or something?
Try and find something that gives you a treat. I remember when a friend of our died and it was all too much - we went to the cinema and watched Hook when it first came out - it was light relief and helped us get through a few hours at least...
Think about what you do enjoy. I know I enjoy giving... perhaps find someone you can bless either with your company or with a pressie or with something you've made - shift the focus I often enjoy myself more that way....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

The way I see it, is on that day my life changed and kind of split into two parts if you like. People celebrate alsorts of things, so marking the accident that left me disabled I can either go in "oh poor me" mode and think about what I can do, what I can't do and all the if's and buts - which I'd rather not do, or do something a bit daft (because that's what I do, lol) which is what I'd prefer, you know?
Might sound a bit weird to some, I know...If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0
