We are thinking of lock blocking the driverway and i am looking for driveway gates...
Thing is the opeing i have is 22 foot and i want a gate so what do you suggest i think i may have to go with gates 10' foot long with a 3'gate and do something with the extra.
So im looking for matching 10' gates and a 3' gate
Anyone know of metal gates at a reasonable cost?
Thank you

Hi there,
If you look in the Yellow pages I think they advertise under Metal workers. Locally (to here) I have seen them advertise in the local papers. I know that the landscaping disvison of Jewsons offer metal gates (but I imagine for a bespoke size the would contract out the work to a local company?)
I would try a few local companies and see what quotes/ideas they come up with.
Just a thought - the drive opening is 22ft - would it be practical to have a smaller gate in the middle and have a wall built to enclose the area not covered by the gate? I am presuming that you would need to have pillars built anyway to have something to attach the gate to? Are you looking for gates that open into the drive or one that slides along (iykwim)?
I can't start googling because I know I will convince myself that having the gates done should be pushed up the prority list :rotfl: With the winters we get here and how exposed we are it needs a blipper and I know how much that mechanism costs - so we are saving!0 -
thanks for that.
I will have to have a think about the drive opening as most gates are only 10 foot..lol
I am not sure how to work them in as the drive is not sqare so i have to have a big think where i can put the pillars as i am hoping to build a dyke on the other side...oh the joys..lol
meant to say i have a blacksmith just up the road who can make my gates so that wont be a problem i sont think0
