Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
100% Fruit juices and smoothes count as 'premium' foods and have a VAT of 17.5%, ASDA have set up a pertition to number 10 to reduce VAT on healthy foods to the minimum of 5%.

I'll sign, but when does this Government ever listen to anything the electorate say? They've put us so much in debt that they need to claw every possible penny back from us to fund it, so I see very little chance of this happening, despite the logic of it.0

Hi, Thanks for mentioning this, I have signed. On one hand the government back healthy eating with the '5 a day' campaign and then tax us for doing it! I buy fruit juices but avoid smoothies as a luxury we can do without!!!Slightly bitter0

And how is this green or ethical moneysaving?0 -
Hi windra
As Andy Bond says 'To encourage a healthy option'.
If Andy Bond would care to initiate a petition on, clear labeling:j, clear ingredients:j, banning the use of mechanically reclaimed meat:j or a ban on trans fatty acids:j which are worse than saturated fats! Then I [strike]might[/strike] would lend my support:T. As it stands I can't see him doing this, this man has a blatant brass neck imho.:p
Sorry but not worthy enough I'm afraid.
Edit: Do keep us posted though as I would be inclined to vote some things.:)
...I would recommend a book by Felicity Lawrence, 'Not on the Label', that may well be found in a local library. :money:
Sorry if my response is a bit negative.0 -

Also, many fruit juices reduce the effects of any medication you may be on.
