My views: - HBOS takeover will fall through. I'd say 8- 10 weeks, maybe sooner.
GB did not want to risk a 2nd UK bank going down under his term - as Joe Public see the Government as a bailout from the NR situation.
Placing the short term ban on financial/insurance stocks from going short - will only delay the inevitable - Traders don't touch stocks that are not clearly evident of going under - otherwise you would see all FTSE 100 being bought down if Short selling was to blame.0 -
