No light at the end of the tunnel!

I will post a full SOA when i can sit down to sort it but everything just seems so daunting right now. I have calculated around £35,000 of debt, 3 loans, numerous credit cards etc on top of a mortgage, 2 secured loans one with Nemo and 1 with welcome (I know!!!!) Going to sort a DMP but all i can think about is that we are ALWAYS going to be in debt and everything just seems so bleak. I am worried that the biggest debts are going to result in creditors filing for bankruptcy, couldnt bear that. I know we have been stupid to get in such a mess but have any of you been so badly in debt and got free of it? I just want to run away somewhere.:( :(

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You have taken the big first step by posting on here. Many of us on here have debts the same size as yours or bigger and believe me there is hope and if you work hard that debt will go. Ok it won't be quick but you WILL get there.

A full SOA is the best place to start as you will be amazed what help will come your way. I have shaved a few hundred off my outgoings by following peoples advice on here.

If you are going for a DMP make sure you go with one of the free charities as there are some companies out there who take a fee. I don't have a DMP myself but pretty sure there is a support thread on here somewhere.

    Good luck.

    Hi kken
Don't worry there should be a way out! We're in over £50,000 of debt (I thought less but apparently my DFS sofa counts too!) and are starting a DMP in November. We should be debt free in about 7 years.
It's a long struggle but will be wortyh it I'm sure! I never want to use a credit card again! ;)

  • Hi kken and welcome.
Everybody on here is or has been in debt to various levels, some massively so and there is always a way to sort it.
With our help and support and a full SOA when you feel up to it using https://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html

To set up a DMP, contact CCCS or Payplan, DO NOT use a fee charging service like the sharks who advertise on TV

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
