MBNA are one of several companies who are very pushy and will tell you almost anything to get you to pay. Before they can put an attachement of earnings order on you they would have to go down a long route of court action that can be defended/delayed at every stage. This is an empty threat and they know it. Especially if you are a few months from paying off other creditors and plan to increase their payments then.

However, they may have a point in your case. I read from your post that you have prioritized other creditors. It is more normal to give a pro rata payment and it could be this that MBNA want.
If you have agreements with other creditors in place about to finish then just keep paying MBNA whatever you normally do and keep promising more later. If they do go for court action it will be a CCJ and by the time it goes through you would hopefully have paid off your other debts anyway.

    Totally agree with xbigman.

One thing - are you dealing with MBNA's Debt Management Team or some other dept. (Or even their hideous Credit Solutions Ltd?).

Views on MBNA seem to differ wildly - in my present situation of making just £1 token payments, they're currently being very understanding.

In my situation, I found that repeating the same story every time I spoke to them eventually got the message thru!

If you feel you're intimidated, could you not ask that all future discussion about your debt be conducted in writing?
