£60 tax back for September - who got it?

hey not sure if this is in the right place, just wondering if anyone has successfully got their tax back this month - the £60 we were all promised?
I started a new job on august 18th just got first pay slip from them today, teh tax code is wrong (on a BR) and it makes no reference to a £60 credit but i have nothing to compare it to as this is my first wage - looks to me like i havent got it though 2000 income before tax, 400 tax (BR) and about £120 NI - no £60 tax back there is there?
is this cos ive changed jobs and/or on a BR code - does anyone know if i will still get it then or do i lose out???

well... ive recently just been changed from a BR code.. so im waiting for money back from that and this £60 i didnt even know about?? so ill defo be chasing it up cos its a lot of tax myself and you have been both paying!!

A BR code means a straight 20% of your gross income is deducted as tax. You are not getting the benefit of your tax free personal allowance and won't until you get your code sorted out.

You should have given your P45 from your last employer to your new employer and if you don't have one they should have given you a P46 to complete to send to their tax office and get your code sorted.

It is because of the BR code. Once you get your tax code sorted out the £60 will appear straight away.

If this is your only job, then code BR is not correct and this is why you have not had your refund. Did you hand a P45 to your employer? If not, you need to ask him for a form P46- sign to say this is your only job and you will be put on E code (603L week 1) which will reduce your tax deductions. To get your refund you will need to ring your tax office and ask them to issue a cumulative code to your new employer.

I didn't get it. I think this is because I got a backdated raise in June backdated to January and if you looked at my April-September pay I would (just) fall into higher rate, so fingers crossed it will sort itself out in the coming months, as by the end of the year I will not.
