New House - Doesn't Exist to Many!

Hi All
Not directly money saving but hope someone can help.
We moved into our new build property just over a year ago. However google map, multimap and sat navs still do not recognise our property. This causes problems when getting things delivered (wasted days off work waiting for deliveries that don't arrive = money!).
Am sure others have experienced this. Anyone know of a way to speed up the process of getting our new house recognised!!?
Any help gratefully received.

We bought last year a house that was standing there for more than 3 years and it still didn't exist on a few maps or sat navs. Delivery men used to ring up and ask for directions. I think it will take a while to update it all. Patience...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

You need to contact Royal Mail as all other delivery systems work off their original records, although it is likely the builder has already done this. I recently contacted them to get a building recognised. In my case it was a building that had existed for many years but did not have an official record with Royal Mail. I rang them and described the building's location. They sent out somebody to verify the location and then the address was 'made official' on their register of addresses. It took several months to appear on Royal Mail's records, but you will find it takes even longer to filter through to other address based systems - sometimes it can take them years to update!0

Is it on the Postal Address File? You can check this at royalmail.com - If it is on the PAF then the sat nav companies will need to update their databases. If it is a new build then you will need to contact your local council who are responsible for regsitering properties and contacting Royal Mail so as a postcode can be issued. If the property is not a new build then you can contact Royal Mail Address Management who will arrange for your address to be added - when they have added your address it should appear on the RM website after 24 hours. When we moved into our flat it had been here for around 3 years but even so it didn't show on multimap/google/satnavs etc... even though it was properly registered with Royal Mail and is on a very large new build estate.
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it as it all depends on when the organisations update their address and postcode data - each different company will have their own schedule for doing this based on a commercial decision. You just have to have patience I'm afraid - its one of the downsides to buying new builds.
After we'd lived here for a year or so I noticed that we started showing up on route-planners and satnavs - they'd obviously updated their maps and data. We now rarely get calls from delivery people which makes life a lot easier! The only thing you can do for delivery people is make sure you give good directions when you order (there's often an "other comments" field) - but whether that info gets through to the driver is a bit hit and miss. There is now one organisation I deal with that even almost 3 years later still hasn't updated their address data so according to them our postcode doesn't exist!
Probably not what you wanted to hear, but assuming you are correctly registered with Royal Mail (do check this out, but you probably are), just sit tight and in time the problem will go away.0
