Just read this on Yahoo News:
Employees of bankrupt investment bank Lehman Bros have been offered free theatre tickets by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
An estimated 5,000 London staff lost their jobs on Monday but they now have until October 15 to view some of the biggest shows on the West End. Bank staff who are able to produce a bank P45 form dated after September 1 will be eligible for free tickets to The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, subject to availability.
"Both The Sound of Music and Joseph are feel-good shows, and I thought that free tickets might offer some respite, albeit for a couple of hours, for some of those people who have sadly lost their jobs in the current economic upheaval," Sir Andrew said.
(Not sure whether I would want to watch the Sound of Music after just having lost my job, but it's free.)
