Homemade selection box

Hiya i've been reading these boards for a while now and decided to give some homemade gifts this year. Instead of buying selection boxes i have decided to buy the sweets and make my own i'm looking for some ideas how i would display them.
Many thanks

  • Maybe you could wrap each bar in tissue paper and then tie together with ribbon??

Or a Poster tube (Think you can buy these in the post office??, filled with sweets and Choc's with shedded tissue paper and some xmassy confettie??

Would have also suggested the Stocking idea.

  • 715858_m.jpgthis was a popular sweetie idea from last year. I made some for my kids and they went down really well. If you do a search for retro sweetie box then lots of ideas come up. btw the box above was being sold for £25 in one of the big department stores  .

oops sorry didnt read the post properly this might be a bit too small for what you are looking for. Nice idea though.

I like to make exploding sweets for birthdays, I something like a small plant pot and fill it with oasis. Get some wooden scewers (sp) then attach the sweets to the scewer and push them into the oasis. Fill the plant pot up with the scewers and sweets and then what i did was hang ribbon from some of the sweets and wrap around with cellophane. Ive made 3 of these for my nieeses and nephews and they loved them. I put things like, long chews, bags of rainbow drops, freddos, chewits, lollies if they are long enough can just be stuck into the oasis. some thing like this:

    Hope this helps.
  • I always use christmas gift bags with a character on the front.
I stuff a couple of bags of sweeties at the bottom for bulk and then fill with multi pack bars and lollies.
then sellotape the handles together add a bit of tinsel or tissue paper and they look really nice.

mine didnt actually look like that :o but i wanted you to get the gist of what i meant. I used scewers and clear cellopane on mine, they still look really good though. I suppose you could always use tissue paper in different colours if you couldnt find the same coloured cellophane. The picture is one off the internet, bBet it costs a fortune aswell.

This is a really good idea.
