No interesting secrets - just a complete obsession with paying things off and not spending too much! I've just managed to up my monthly payments, and my pay rise is going on CCs too. I'm getting better all the time, and my estimation of how much money i need to spend each month is going down and down.

    It's great!

Yes that is the secret. I realised that if I could decrease my expenses that would do me more good than agonising over my lack of earnings.
  • Our debt free date is fast approaching, and I've been squirrelling away some bits of my commission the last few months. It's OH's 30th next year so I'm treating him to a trip - minus the anklebiters - to Montreal. We're flying Canadian affair - thanks to the advice from the travel board here on MSE - and arranging our own b&b so not forking out for a big deal. I know I should be putting that cash in the snowball, but then the flights would be dearer than the interest we're paying on the cc. Thank heavens we'll be debt free before we're both 30 - here's to lots more years without any debt at all!

I'll be paying off my loan 8 months early on Friday, and that'll leave me with £1300 on a 0% credit card, so i'll probably pay that off by the end of January before the 0% period ends then im gonna treat myself to a nice car when i cash some shares from a share save scheme around the middle of next year. Still undecided on the car tho, either a VX220, Lotus Elise or a Mazda RX8
