Bloomin 'eck - I've just had loads of pages to catch up on after not being on since yesterday morning.
Been to Manchester Market St today and couldn't find any reduced products on shelves - was particuarly hoping for john frieda. No clearance section (that I could see anyway) either.
I did buy some ysl kouros at the bargain price of £13 though with fragrance till spit and 'normal' voucher.
I also wanted some davidoff echo for men but I had forgotten my other 'normal' voucher and that branch only gives till spits I think.
I exchanged some electrical beauty for teeny tiny baby socks, scratch mittens and hats and some tights for my daughter and thats it. I had almost forgotten how tiny NB babies feet areso cute.

Oh err. Just been to BOOTS again. Saw lots of other items that I did not see yesterday, which I took. Got some proper posh LOREAL ELVIVE NET or whatever it was for £1.00 and some Sunsilk Brunette for £0.50. I got lots of bargains! Get me indeed. Thanks to the adorable lady that pointed out this yesterday. Cheers flower.0

I have a quick query for any bootsers who live in & around County Durham. I'm soon to be moving jobs (although maybe not so soon at this rate!) I'll be working at the hospital in Durham, and I was wondering which, if any, stores in the locality you rate as good for bargains? Thanks
All 3 Durham stores are pretty good and have nice friendly SA's. If you have a car then the Arnison Centre store is probably your best bet as there is free parking, it's about a ten minute drive from the hospital.
The Arnison Centre store is fairly big, no premium beauty counters though. It doesn't seem to get as much traffic as the other stores, so virtually no queues. The SA's in there are lovely and like to see glitches and bargains for the customers. They are usually the first of the 3 stores to put seasonal stock like Easter Eggs, Mothers Day gifts etc onto clearance.
The two city centre stores are Marketplace and North Road but you would need to pay parking or bus fare, you can walk in from the hospital but walking back with heavy bags might be a pain, especially in the winter. Marketplace does have Clinique, Estee Lauder and Clarins counters and is the busiest and biggest of the 3 stores, two floors.
All 3 are about equal for clearance bargains, it goes in fits and starts. North Road is a tiny store and often has some good clearance, particularly electricals.
Example, last weekend I bought a set of Remington straighteners on clearance in there, the other Boots stores are currently selling them on offer for £19.99, I paid £8.xx for them just because they don't usually stock them. :T
Welcome to Durham, which Boots stores do you usually go to?

I think Geordie_lass has said it all :rotfl: i find that the Arnison centre store seems to reduce things sooner than the one in the market place and their reduced prices are also cheaper (in most cases)

Are there any West/south B'ham people who would like to share info on local bargains? I don't go into B'ham centre that often, but visit Merry Hill, Harborne, Redditch, Northfield, occasionally Bromsgrove and Solihull on a regular basis. Any opinions on the best local branches for reductions/clearances?
To kick off, I went to Redditch yesterday and there was very little reduced. Northfield had lots of SEL reductions on haircare last week (also on 3 for 2)
Funny how it can vary so much from store to storeand thanks in advance

Another small victory for the consumer today! I ordered some of the sensitive washing powder on the glitch the other day. Ten boxes for 14 pounds odd (including postage). Anyway, I opened the packages today and the cheeky so and sos had only packed 8 boxes although the despatch note said that they had packed 10!!! I phoned customer services and they have just credited me with the original £2.95 per box that was missing rather than the £1 odd that I paid for them. So I think I have only paid £8 odd for the 8 boxes including the postage so I'm a very happy bunny now. Mind you I don't think 8 boxes will last long once the little one comes along!Make £2012 in 2012 member #88
