I've not donated to my local charity shop for ages as when I come back home from town and take a short cut I can see the massive industrial wheelie bin they fill with stuff they do not want, it is full off 'old dears' and I swear they just dump loads of stuff in the wheelie save sorting it....you'd think they would atleast pass the bits on to the clothing banks etc:rolleyes: sorry...rant over lolbarmybabybugaroo wrote: »Glad to be of help. Good for you donating them to charity - I'm sure they will make good use of them.
On the subject of charity (but off topic sorry) would anybody happen to know the best way/place to donate baby grows to. I figure there must be somewhere that could make use of them rather than a charity shop that would probably sell them really cheap (if somebody that volunteers doesn't take them 1st).
Any ideas?
Freecycle
Womens Aid find your local centre/refuge half way down page on drop down menu
Health Visitor presume you have one, but if not can be found here, they are good as most Health Visitors tend to keep a few bags at any one time in their cupboards as they always know those with a real need in the local community and also tend to keep a few bits to one side incase of accidents etc
Care Confidential has local crisis centres and they will give the clothes free to mothers on a low income or benefits in need
Baby Pack if you do not mind posting light bits abroad... they make up packs for newborn babies on the lower south coast of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa, after a local lady saw newborn babies leave the hospital wrapped in newspaper because the mothers had nothing else to wrap them in!
However, if your having a sort out of your old bits (ie last years bobbly jumpers lol) it may be easier just to take it direct to a refuge as the women tend to arrive with just the clothes on their backs too. Free cycle is fab, but I always tend to think that if the people have internet access they probably have less of a need than those using the refuges and crisis centres etc

I can never moan about missing a glitch again lol. Does anyone know if Mrs BB got the urban decay palettes she was after?"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." — Marilyn Monroepinkladymel wrote: »she hasn't lost the ol' Bootsing magic
