Default notices - help!

I have recently started a DMP with Payplan. They have already started to make payments to my creditors, even though not all have accepted my proposals yet. During this period when things are getting set up, is it normal to receive lots of default notices? I had a horrible one today from Goldfish - Payplan says not to worry about them, but I do! They say to forward them to my case worker there. Goldfish don't reply to any letters - I have sent lots in the past, yet they keep on and on phoning me. I am beginning to see a very small chink of light at the end of a very long tunnel but default notices make me very panicky. Any advice - should I also reply to Goldfish as well as forwarding their letter to Payplan?

Don't panic! That happened with me when I started a DMP with CCCS. The first one I got from BOS when they passed the debt to a debt collection agency, and I just rung them and said speak to CCCS, they're dealing with it. It took a further 12 months before I got one from IF, and I rang them and explained everything, and they said it was just standard procedure for passing the debt to an agency. I then received a letter from the agency asking for payment, and I just rung them and said this is the payment I'm making through the CCCS, and they just asked me to make sure the CCCS send the payment to them. It was another 12 months before I got another from IF for another debt and I just did the same thing.
I would pass the letter on to PayPlan, and at the same time write to the creditor (recorded delivery) explaining the situation, and request that all contact regarding the debt should go to PayPlan.
Don't worry. I know it's a little scary. I remember when I got my first default notice and your heart does race a little. Just remember, you've done the right thing going to PayPlan, and they've got lots of experience. It will be ok.Lightbulb moment - October 2005

A default notice is a legal document that has to be issued when you have failed to make the agreed payments on any credit agreementthat you have entered in to. Once it has been issued it allows the creditor to register your details with credit referance agencies and it also allows the creditor to sell on the debt to a collector.I am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0

I am getting help from the CAB,and they are working on my "Plan" now. I am getting loads of phone calls and letters every day, I have written to every one and told them that the CAB are "dealing with my problems", most are OK but they do still keep sending letters and phoning, I have been told that it "gets better".. guess it will all sort itself out in time, keep looking on this site as there is always someone to give you advice, its such a great site, Thanks Everyone, it's nice to know your "not on your own":beer: Keep your Chin up.. it can only get better
