stake holder pension

hi all after starting my stake holder pension 3 years ago putting as much away as i can afford only to see it reducing every week am i going to lose the lot ? should i carry on with it im a long way off retiring ,when things do get better will i get all my money back should i be worried or am i safe. thanks for any help .thank god for this sight.

Investment returns zig zag. That is quite normal. Indeed, for you it is very beneficial as the units you buy now are cheaper than any time in the last 3 years. You are now getting more for you money. If you stop and wait you will miss out on this buying opportunity and miss out on the growth when a recovery comes.
A very rough guide is that in a typical 5 year period you will have one bad year, one year that does nothing and 3 good years. You dont know what order they will come in but you will expect to see a heavy drop that frequently and that is what you have here.
Its nothing new, its nothing unusual and its nothing to be concerned with unless you happen to be 64 and are still invested 100% in equities and plan to retire in the next 12 months.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). its a great site you get quick helpful advise from people like your self to people like me who dont like contacting places for advise because i always get talked into buying policys ect ,that i dont realy want thank you so much for your reply0
