It's astounding that the countries academics, economists, leaders and c ommentators did not see this comming.

I listed to many a debate on Radio5 and R4 through 05 - into early 08 where the general consensus was a correction, let alone a crach just wasn't a serious notion.

I called R5 Live and sapoke with thier money 'expert' (scottish lady) and warned of this comming and how N Rock was in far worse shape then she was spouting - she sniggered and dismissed me.

Everyone is now saying it was obvious all along - but it wasn't to 99% of you

How Kirsty has the front to even show her face is gauling - she time and again said this couldn't happen

Dont forget though, people like Allslop had vested interests in keeping the bubble going, Have you ever seen that knob on BBC breakfast, Declan, I reckon hes right in the s**t with BTL, you can tell from how these people talk, trying spin things to sound better, you can't polish a turd but it doesnt stop them trying.

You are CGNAO and I claim my five pounds.

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

How is it a bunch of fringe loonatics on a forum were able to pretty much predict this whole sorry credit crunch, where all the experts didn't even see it comming?

    Just two words: vested interests.
  • I got laughed at when my friend kept telling me how much money she made through property.

    Literally laughed in my face.

She is still my best friend and doesn't laugh anymore.

She doesn't sound a great friend, she sounds like one of those friends that uses people to measure their self worth against. They gloat when things are good and keep their head down and say nothing when things are cac.

ask a large enough group of people what they think will happen and someone will be right, whether they were insightful or lucky is another matter.

personally i remember about 2005 talking with a mate about house prices being overvalued then so to me the biggest surprise it the time the crash took thanks to the 2005 rate cuts and btl replacing ftb'rs.
