    Depends what you're buying ;)

Anyway, it's common for company's franking machines to miss a beat and a letter gets sent out with no postage

It's not that you have to deal with these every day then to know the values and combinations!! When I worked in the motor trade, I thought I was sad with spotting registrations and knowing which fleet management company they were leased through. In fact I didn't think I was sad, I knew I was sad.

But I agree with above, for the sake of £1.27, just get it picked up, then contact the seller. I've also found that the printed PO labels do not stick very well to some Jiffy bags - mainly the ones with newsprint pulp as a padding. The vast majoritry of sellers would be understanding on this, and I think the vast majority of buyers would be a bit more tolerant than is suggested.

eBay should not be a "them and us" between buyers and sellers, and needs no encouragement to get it that way.

Reminds me of a guy I worked with in Hatton Cross near Heathrow, he knew the makes of planes by their engine noise alone. Even the same engine in different planes made a slightly different tone. He's retired now, but he is still regularly seen on the South Perimeter Road with a thermos, binoculars, parka and scanner.

Nice bloke. Dull as dishwater. Single...

I'd message the seller and ask for £1.50. That's to cover the charge, plus any chunk Paypal take from their payment to you.

    SE.

    Ask em for a fiver!

As most sellers often charge more than the actual postage cost as they include things like:

    Petrol
    Time to get there
    Time out of work
    Time spent in the queue
Had to get a baby sitter for 30 minutes
Post Office carpark was full, so had to Pay an Display...
  • I would go to the sorting office and have a look at the item. I doubt it is your package as 27p underpayment doesn't sound right. As custardy said its more likely to be a standard letter.

It'll all change again soon Custardy. End of October (at least in theory) and it'll be business as usual.
