    Hi to all

I am not often on here but I seem to be suffering from a similar issue with 1&1. Thankfully they haven't been able to take any money from my account because I cancelled the DD when I cancelled my account with them. The former was a smart move because these people will try and take the money no matter what.

I decided after a period of ill health to no longer renew with 1 & 1 and cancelled my services. I was shocked  to find they were still after money from me so I contacted them. They said I had not completed the process fully - they claim I didn't click a link in an e-mail they sent me. This is total rubbish but just to be certain I did it all again and clicked their link again. I did all this prior to the renewal date for the contract.

I then had another e-mail chasing payment so I complained and said I had cancelled. They said I had to pay the invoices because they had already raised them! I mean !!!!!!? I told them I was not paying just because they had raised the invoices early. In the real world you cannot raise an invoice prior to the work and expect a client to pay if they don't actually have any work or service from you.

They can whistle Dixie as far as I am concerned. I am not paying for something I cancelled prior to the renewal date simply because they raised the invoice!
  • Last year i tried to cancel my contract with 1&1 direct it went on for a couple of months , then i had a letter from avarto debt collection saying i had to pay as i cancelled after the the cancellation date , so i paid . This year they have invoiced me again for what i thought i had cancelled last year . i have again been contacted by avarto to say that i owe again i ve told them that i have a confirmation email that it is canceled but they wanted to know the date which was after the invoice date but it took me at least 4 weeks 20 or 30 emails returned, loads of phone calls at which i never got through so now they re saying i have to pay again well they have no chance this year let them take me to court this time.
When i asked Nick the address of where he worked he tried to give me a PO Box address then on the third attempt he got it right or so he says.
I had asked if it was all one company at one point in the conversation he said not then he said 'i should know i work for them' lol
He stumbled many times in the conversation .
I decided to phone him back within 3 minutes he d gone for lunch.
If I hear from them again i will be writing to trading standards etc
