    Getting mine from Wilkinson.

£25 for a 4ft one. No idea if that is good or not, but never had a problem with Wilkinson goods.

Got 4 11" ones at £1.99 each, but they flash.

I want to go buy one today, but it's raining and I dunno if it is wise to carry one back, albeit in a box, if it's raining

I bought 4ft one a couple of years ago and as the 'posh, co-ordinated' tree in the bay window it is fine (had to paint the pot gold as I thought the black, plastic looked nasty) but I have a traditional tree in the lounge covered (I should say smothered really ;)) in tinsel, baubles 3 sets of fairy lights, chocs etc and set in a wicker basket (which you can't do to the a fibre optic because of the heat it generates). Have a look on ebay, you might find a bargain!!
  • Today in Focus some fibre optic trees are now half price! I bought a 6ft (1.8m) fibre optic tree for 19.99 which was £20 off the price I almost bought it for last week!

I have just bought the 7ft majestic from Wilkinsons after having a 6ft fibre optic for the last 4 yrs. I find that the downside of a fibre optic is that it doesnt look good unless it is on. Most fibre optics dont have any kind of decorations or if they do they are very sparse. The noise from the (dont know what its called) thing that turns the lights different colours can be noisey but I guess thats down to the quality of the tree.

My advice is if you can, look very carefully at the tree when its on in the shop. Listen to the motor thingie and imagine how it will look with the lights off - will it look too bare?

    Hope that helps.
  • I bought my first fibre optic tree yesterday. It was from one of the garden centres in cruise hill Enfield. I ummed and arred and do feel a twang of guilt about my lovely tree and decorations and new baubles that I have bought through the year are now staying in the loft. but it's a lot less hassle. It has mirrored stars on and is 4ft. I must say it looked very pretty and my husband and kids wanted my to leave it out but it's much too early I think. I paid £29.99.
    HOW MUCH ?
