AIG is the Proud sponsor of Man Utd. If AIG fails on Wed then Jersey's will be free or firesale - because a team cant wear a Bankrupt sponosrs shirt!
If however it is bought over by Fed - you will see USA flag on MANU shirts as they are the official owners.
Hmm so America is trying to conquer Britain
. Reverse buyout?
Just joking - but tomorrow is going to be another 'fun' filled day.
One more funny thing which I read today - it is really funny according to me

The Leh Bro's building in Canary Wharf is insured for rent default with AIG! Imagine the owner - they thought of being smart and insuring rent against a possible bankruptcy against LB with AIG which is going bust. This is referred to as getting shafted from both ends!

Recession - if you are forced to drink beer at your home.
Depression - if you have no beer to drink at all!
I don't see any of the above - so where is it (recession)?

Anyone think that the premiership is going to be a major casualty of the Credit Crunch?
Just like the housing market it has been buoyed for years on a seemingly never ending supply of easy money, which is now drying up.
I dread to think how history is going to judge the 'noughties' - the rise of property !!!!!! TV, MEWing to live an unsustainable lifestyle of designer gear 4x4s and foreign holidays, worship of celebrities, stupid fancy food, football becoming totally detached from its roots, plastic surgery becoming commonplace, a rising underclass and increasing economic deprivation (during the good times) .... and they're not over yet!--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -

I do as it goes. Ars*nal are having trouble shifting the flats at Highbury and whichever of Man Utd, Liverpool or the Ars* that get displaced from the 'Champions' League places by Man Citeh will presumably end up in a Leeds-style death spiral.
Beyond that, if you've lost your job and can't pay the Sky bill then you can't have Sky no matter whether or not you've got "Wednesday 'til I die" or something similarly preposterous tatooed on your arm.
Remember Shankley said, "Football isn't a matter of life or death. It's more important than that". The man was either joking or an idiot (or both of course).0 -
Hmm Beer and Football - the two things to die for in UKRecession - if you are forced to drink beer at your home.

I manage to be perfectly happy by ignoring both (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Right city wrong team. Spurs I'm afraid. My counsellor says it could take years for me to get over it.IveSeenTheLight wrote: »Surely Chelsea could end up as a displaced team as well
Well yes they could as could City but their risks are more 'key man', ie that their very rich backers get bored or become less rich. I feel that for the 3 I listed, their problems are rather more pressing.0
